Location

Iliamna is located 225 miles southwest of Anchorage on the Alaska peninsula. Iliamna is not accessible by the Alaska highway system, so a short flight from Anchorage is required. Flights depart Anchorage and Iliamna daily.

Travel to Iliamna

Make arrangements to arrive at Anchorage International Airport (ANC) on any major or budget airlines. From there our guests fly with Lake and Peninsula Air to Iliamna, where we will be waiting to pick you up and take you to the lodge. For guests staying a night or two in Anchorage, we recommend staying at the Millennium Lakefront Hotel. Your flight with Lake and Peninsula Air and hotel reservations are booked separately from your booking at Talarik Creek Lodge.

What to Bring

All fishing equipment and tackle is provided. If you prefer to fly fish, please bring your rod and reel of choice. Bring along your favorite flies or try our home tied flies.

Recommended packing list:

  • Wading Boots - NO Felt or Studs

  • Wader Belts

  • Fly Fishing Gear - if appropriate

  • Long Underwear - polypropylene is best for wicking & comfort

  • Under Wader Wear

  • High Quality Socks - wool or synthetic

  • Fleece Jacket

  • Rain Jacket

  • Waterproof Bags - for wading gear & wet laundry

  • Comfortable Clothes - for relaxing in the lodge

  • Sunglasses, 2 pair

 

Alcohol Policy

It is illegal for us to sell liquor as Iliamna is a damp village by law.  That said, we would like you to enjoy your vacation. You may hand carry alcohol on Lake and Peninsula Air, provided it is labeled.  Anchorage liquor stores box and label your spirits free of charge. Alternatively, you can place an order with Brown Jug Liquor online with delivery to Talarik Creek Lodge. Shipping times to rural Alaska can be lengthy, so be sure to plan ahead. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and are happy to assist you with pre-ordering alcohol. We have a variety of mixers available for our guests at the lodge.
